BIOGRAPHY

AGport3Already in childhood, Alexandro Nelson García had unusual encounters with what seemed to him residents of extraterrestrial civilizations. They appeared to him in dreams and later in waking visions. In 2009, on a beach in Uruguay Alexandro García had his first physical encounter with extraterrestrial beings. At one point, during an astral projection in a dream he found himself on board a spaceship and carried to an underwater base in the Antarctic where he received telepathically teachings by three beings who eventually gave him his cosmic name: Amkhum.

Because García was drawing since a young age, he eventually felt the irresistible urge to depict the extraterrestrial worlds seen on his out-of-body experiences and visions.
He draws meticulously fine arrays of lines automatically, without plan and intention while he has the feeling that a transpersonal intelligence guides his hand. He draws a dense network of signs and symbols in vibrating, feather-light strokes, forming tiny figures and shapes in a wonderfully colorful bright weightlessness with ruler and stencils. His works have a hypnotic quality transmitting diverse levels of meaning. Alexandro García has the feeling as if a part of him would be living in his drawings as if in a parallel universe.

Alexandro García never received any artistic training. For a while he worked as a gardener in his hometown Montevideo. For several years he lived in Bogotá, Colombia, where he ran a car and truck workshop and served as a volunteer art teacher for particularly poor and disadvantaged children in the Colegio la Estancia San Isidro Labrador in his free time. He now is back in Montevideo. He regards this work as part of his mission to advance people's awareness by means of art.
