BIOGRAPHY

Toward the end of World War I, the engineer and spiritualist Hans Malik (1887-1964) met the widow Maria Vondrak, née Huberts, at a séance with Baron Carl von Kleeberg in Vienna. Vondrak acted as a medium. In a later session, he was told that Mrs. Vondrak was his soulmate and that they were destined for each other from the beginning. They were married in 1919.

Throughout her life, Maria Malik, known as “Mizi”, was one of the outstanding mediums in the Christophorus Society, the spiritualist circle founded by Hans Malik. From the beginning she was also active as a drawing medium. She created impressive symbolic works, most of them in collaboration with her spirit guides "Aurelia" and "Colbus".
