BIOGRAPHY
Not much is known about Alfred Meents, who was a secondary school teacher of physics and mathematics in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. During the First World War he contracted a heart condition. In his spare time, he liked to make sculptures. In addition, Meents produced large-format abstract automatic drawings and watercolors, which he regarded as guided by unknown forces outside his conscious will. He dealt with philosophical questions related to the occult.
